Happy (Stressful) Holidays

There are two types of people during the holiday season. The ones that will ‘rock around the Christmas tree’ every chance they get, and the ones that would rather drill their brains out than participate in anything holiday related. Whether you’re type A or type B, the holidays can be stressful no matter what. You’ve got the whole family to shop for and maybe even a significant other that you need to impress as well. I totally get it. I am on the same boat my friend.

But, something that I’ve learned the past couple years (being a student) is how important family is during the holiday season. Since this is the second year of me living away from home, it has made me realize that the one thing that really gets me in my holiday spirit is sitting around the fireplace staring at the beautifully lit Christmas tree, catching up with the people I love.

I guess the main point I’m trying to get across this holiday is, remember how much your loved ones do for you and care for you. Unplug for a couple hours and catch up with what you have been missing in everyone’s lives. The best gift you can give this Christmas is the gift of being there with your loved ones. And I don’t just mean physically be there, I mean mentally be there. Show your love this Christmas and always be thankful.

Have a great holiday season!
